Attention Members:

With the season winding down, I want to make everyone aware of some important dates between now and November 15th:

  • September 19th was the final day that I took organized tee times.  This means that beginning on Monday, September 29th through the November 15th, the first tee will operate on a first come-first serve arrangement.  This will include weekday and weekend play.  (One exception:  Wednesday, October 1st will play host to the final tournament of the year.  It will be a 12:30 PM shotgun start, meaning the first tee will be open from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM for 18-hole member play and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM for 9-hole member play.  After 10:00 AM the course will be closed the remainder of the day to accommodate this charity event.)

  • The first tee time every morning from now until November 15th (including weekends and holidays) will be 8:00 AM.

  • On Monday, September 29th, the pro shop will begin opening at 7:45 AM and remain open until approximately 6:30 PM each day.  These hours will eventually shorten as the year goes on and will depend largely upon daylight.

  • Also, players starting on #10 on normal days will not be allowed until 10:00 AM.

  • Any remaining days in the golf season that begin with a frost delay, no players will be allowed to start play off of the tenth tee.

  • In an effort to begin storing fixtures, outdoor furniture, and other bulky items, all bag storage (including carts, golf bags, and miscellaneous items) will need to be claimed by Sunday, October 26th.

  • Special orders – With an abundance of apparel and equipment still remaining, special orders must be placed before Friday, October 10th.  This will allow time for products to arrive at Wahconah that maybe on back-order.  The reason I mention back-orders is because I am frequently running into situations with vendors where 2008 products are being phased out with Monday, November 3rd being the launch date for the new 2009 product lines.  October 10th allows plenty of time to find out if a product is still available and make necessary adjustments to locate replacement products should an item be discontinued.

  • November 15th will be the last day the golf shop is open, meaning all shop credit will need to be cashed in by this date.  New merchandise is still arriving so feel free to stop by and do some early Christmas shopping or get a head start on the 2009 golf season.  Under no circumstance will credit won in 2008 be carried over to 2009, so please pass this information along to any member/guest partners or other friends and family that may not receive this information electronically.

  • Lost and Found – This year there has been an enormous amount of lost and found items that have been turned in but unclaimed.  Anyone feeling that they may have misplaced any of their belongings can feel free to check with any golf shop member before November 15th.  On November 16th any remaining unclaimed items will be donated to the Salvation Army/Goodwill.

Hopefully, this information is helpful and anyone having any questions can speak to James Underdown.
